The A.I.R. body uses a unique combination of a lightweight wood core sandwiched by a hard maple outer shell, as a result the RBX A2’s body weighs in at just 3.2kg (7lbs). For bass players who want all the sound without all of the weight – it’s the only choice.

The smooth 24-fret maple neck is partnered with a fine-grain dark rosewood fingerboard. The position markers are located above the frets. The bass features a comfortable 864mm (34") scale length with a 250mm (10") radius.

The curved headstock design holds the lightweight barrel-style machine heads that deliver superb tuning stability and ensure the bass is well balanced.

The satin-chrome, curved bridge system works in combination with sound tubes that run through the body to create a unique resonance and sustain adding extra depth to the complex tones.

The controls – front pickup volume, rear pickup volume and master tone – are in the form of die-cast knobs. The two pickup volume controls are illuminated by LEDs that indicate which pickup selection is activated – neck, bridge, or both.

Developed at Yamaha Artist Services Hollywood, the Alnico bar single coil pickups were designed in conjunction with leading artists and deliver a versatile range of powerful, consistent tones ideal for all contemporary music styles.
